How do self-ligating braces work?
Braces work through the wire gently moving the teeth over a period of time, with the wire gripping the bracket attached to your teeth to move them.
Traditionally, braces have used elastic bands to ensure correct tension in the wire. With self-ligating braces, however, the wire is fitted to small clips in the brackets and held in place this way. This results in the braces being much more comfortable to wear, as well as making your orthodontist appointments much faster thanks to the need for the wire to be tightened being removed.
Can I see what my teeth will look like after braces?
Yes! We have a specialist system called an iTero scanner which produces a 3D model of your teeth before treatment and provides a prediction of what your teeth will look like after treatment, giving you a great idea of how braces could help you.

How long does treatment take?
This depends on the complexity of your case. Minor irregularities can be completed in just six months*. Complex cases will take much longer, 12-18 months is common.
